Start discovering the most hidden " marble" reality from the quarry-basins
to the ateliers where artists carve their sculptures, get close to the hard and
dangerous life of the quarrymen and get emotions from the transformation of the
cold stone into a "living" work of art.

Then, to complete and satisfy your thirst of knowledge…discover some of the many secrets of
your local cuisine and attend to the cooking lesson we have organized for you in the kitchen of
a restaurant and finally taste the tasty result.
But, don't forget... the Versilia is also famous for its night life, so don't miss to spend
an amazing night in a fashion disco along the coast, we have selected for you!

Day 1:
Arrival and check- in your hotel.
Free time for relaxing on the beach or visiting the neighbouring town VIP
of Forte dei Marmi, become very famous since the 80th because of its high
social life and its night entertainments and exclusive shop and restaurants.
Actually shopping in the centre is the favourite attraction!
Dinner in a restaurant pub close to the hotel.

Day 2:
Breakfast at hotel.
Guided tour of the town of art "Pietrasanta", with English speaking guide.
The medieval centre shows off a lot of the local and international art of any
age and style. There you'll visit the beautiful Dome square with the St. Martino
Cathedral , the bell tower ( XIV C), the ancient S.Agostino church, its friary
and the cloister with the "Museum of Bozzetti" which exhibits 600 contemporary
art plaster models by 350 foreign and Italian artists. Passing
Through the main street of the town " Via Mazzini", called by the citizens
" Via di Mezzo" we meet the Church of S . Antonio with the frescoes of the
Columbian artist Botero. Up on the hill the old town walls, which have been
recently restored, crown the square.Everywhere shops, small restaurants,
bars and cafes invite to stop and enjoy the lively atmospehere.
Lunchtime at your leisure
Early in the afternoon you reach Carrara (20 km distance) and meet the guide
who will take you along the old quarry paths to enjoy a spectacular view of
the Apuan Alps. You will see the old abandoned marble quarries and the so
called " vie di lizza" - tracks cut out of the rock, where the quarrymen used
to slide the marble blocks to the plain, you'll acknowledge about the techniques,
machinery and tools used from the Roman times up today.
Later you'll go for a tasting of local wine and lardo di Colonnata
(the Lardo di Colonnata is made from fat of the pig's back, preserved in a secret
mixture of salt herbs and spices in marble tubs in Colonnata an old quarrymen
village inside the Carrara marble basins) we have organized for you in a local
typical place.

Day 3:
Breakfast at hotel.
It's time to enjoy the taste of the local cuisine! Late in the morning, at the
restaurant in Marina di Pietrasanta, our Chef will show you some of the "secrets
of the typical Tuscan cuisine". You will attend a cuisine lesson and step-by-step
follow the chef while preparing delicious traditional dishes, and after whetting
the appetite you'll finally taste what have been cooked!
Rest of the day free.
We suggest a visit to the artist workshops and
the several art galleries in the old town centre at Pietrasanta.

Breakfast at hotel and release of the room in the afternoon. End of the program.
